Mione Plant

Mione Plant is a Dallas-based artist, who previously worked as an engineer for 10 years at a Fortune 500 technology company. Although she enjoyed her work, Mione felt fueled by a need for greater creative expression. She began painting and witnessing with delight, the impact of her joyful paintings containing positive underlying messages.

"Creating artwork that brings joy and lightness, but also holds meaning and tells a story, is what I strive to do. I select cheerful subjects, bright colors, and incorporate highly detailed and precise brushstrokes (the former engineer in me!) to bring a smile to my viewers, of all ages. As a mom to a three year old, I am constantly inspired by a child-like sense of wonder."

Story Behind the Work:

The ones who question but listen. Who seek but don’t hide.

Who explore, without a map. Who search answers that will never be spelled out.

Who paint their story with imperfect tools. Who know the palette is meant to get messy, that layers create depth.

Who see the journey as the masterpiece.

Who know their story makes them dope as f*ck.

Saturday morning cartoons with a bowl of sugary cereal before heading outdoors, running breathlessly but always saving one for a spin of the pinwheel.

No thoughts of straight and narrow, black and white, point A to point B.

Im heading back to the paths we ran in the backyard. Curving, winding, with no direction except upwards and towards Joy.

To taste of what we're Lucky enough to call a Charmed life.

Mixed Media on Canvas in Acrylic Frame

Story Behind the Work:

The eyes have it. The eyes that are open, attuned, perceptive to details, to splendor in unusual places.

That see beyond what is tangible, towards something ill-defined, lacking a name. That recognize abundance amidst absence, magic in the mundane. Beauty waiting to be held.

Story Behind the Work:

The thing is, little guy, you've been clinging to that same ol' nutty way of doing things, for years now.

Would you consider a step out of your comfy zone, to shift that gaze just a bit? To loosen your grasp on the known, the predictable, the expected. You might just discover something magical down the path.

You donut have anything to fear.
